A CABARET EVENING WITH MICHAEL ARDEN
Midland/Odessa Area AIDS Support, Inc. has organized Broadway in the Basin for many years now, as the organization's premier annual fundraising event. This year, MAAS welcomes former Midlander Michael Arden (Jerrod Moore) back home to perform its annual gala benefit Thursday, October 25th at the historic Yucca Theatre in downtown Midland.
Michael grew up in Midland, where he was a member of the Pickwick Players and a graduate of Trinity School in 2000. He went on to become a Presidential Scholar in the Arts at the Interlochen Arts Academy, and later attended the Julliard School before making his Broadway debut as Tom Sawyer in Big River. |

Michael has starred in many on and off Broadway productions, and is currently touring Europe as a featured vocalist with Barbara Streisand. Michael's talents as an actor have led him into television and film, appearing in Grey's Anatomy, Numb3rs, and The Return of Jezebel James (Fall 2008), and the independent film Underground.
The proceeds from the event will benefit MAAS, a non-profit, abstinence-based organization devoted to HIV/AIDS/STD education and support. It is our goal at MAAS to share the healing, compassion, grace and love of Jesus Christ with each person whose life has been altered by HIV/AIDS.
Today MAAS serves more than 8,000 people in the Permian Basin each year, including most Midland and many Odessa junior and senior high school students. Only through community support can we continue to offer our vital life-saving services to our clients and also expand our ministry. |
