MAAS is the ONLY organization in the Permian Basin providing our unique services exclusively to persons living with HIV/AIDS and giving our one-of-a-kind HIV/AIDS/STD prevention education program to young people and the public.

MAAS saves lives. MAAS receives NO state or federal funding. MAAS exists solely on foundational grant contributions and private donations. Being able to continue offering our vital services and keep up with our steady growth depends on your help.

HIV/AIDS/STD PREVENTION EDUCATION PROGRAM:
HIV/AIDS has not gone away!! According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control), more people are living with HIV/AIDS today than ever before:

• Data recently released by the CDC states that HIV is on the rise today among young people 13 to 24 years of age.

• The CDC says that 1000 young people 13 to 24 are newly contracting HIV every month in the United States. However, 60 percent of them do not know they are infected because it takes years for symptoms to occur.

MAAS is mandated by the MISD School Board to speak to all 9th to 12th graders in Midland.

Because of the MISD three part program, of which MAAS is 1/3, teen pregnancy was reduced in 2012/2013 by 27 percent. Proper prevention education and testing are the best tools to give our kids today to insure them a safe, healthy and productive future. In 2012, MAAS provided HIV/AIDS/STD prevention education to over 19,000 youths.

BENEVOLENCE & SUPPORT:
More than 75% of MAAS clients live at or below the poverty level and struggle with the year to year cost of living increases.

In 2012, MAAS expended over $62,000.00 in Benevolence & Support for direct care services to individuals living with HIV/AIDS. These services include emergency rental assistance, food, medications, utility bills, transportation, medical bills and clothing.

In 2012, MAAS received 38 new clients. By July of 2013 MAAS had already received 24 new clients.

Our clients are often indigent, sick and estranged from family members – MAAS is the only family many of them have.

MAAS MAKES A DIFFERENCE!
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT MORE TODAY THAN EVER BEFORE!

Please join us in the fight to save our young people and their futures and to help care for the many who have HIV/AIDS and are struggling just to live another day.
